Think beige is boring? Think again.

When Kira and I discussed the vision for our fashion photoshoot, we discussed the beauty of neutral tones, and their ability to facilitate a gorgeous fashion statement. Kira's sense of style is impeccable, and she wanted to show a range of casually elegant and sporty-yet-sophisticated outfits. So we put our heads together and decided that classical architecture would provide just the sort of elegant and understated neutral toned backdrops we wanted for this shoot.

Planning a photoshoot entails far more than picking a pretty location and hoping for good weather. A skilled photographer will consider the colors, textures, and structure of the clothing that the subject will be wearing; factors in the quality of light given the time of day, weather conditions, and the use of available light alone versus the addition of artificial light; and ultimately chooses a location and/or background that will act as a medium to tell a story with intention.
